All about me

Philosophy of Education
1. I believe that students learn both curriculum material required by the state and the hidden curriculum that exists in all schools. Students should be responsible for learning the obvious materials in school. ie: algebra, history, English, grammar, etc. They should also learn things that are not written anywhere or verbally spoken to them. For example, tardies receive consequences--why? Because in society, when you are late, there are consequences.
2. Grammar and writing should be taught and graded in all courses from Kindergarten to Senior Year. Students must be held accountable for spelling errors, grammatical mistakes and they should be able to speak proper English by the time they graduate.
3. A teacher is responsible as many roles to the student. They are the teacher, student, counselor, advocate, and disciplinarian.
4. Parents must be involved in a child's academic life. Communication with a parent is necessary. If a student has a parent who is always on them about school, they are more likely to succeed.
5. All students and teachers should be proficient in the latest technology available. The technology is constantly evolving and in order to be successful in this world, you have to stay up to date on it!
Personal Information
I am asked about my personal life on a daily basis. I strongly feel that the personal life of a teacher must stay out of the classroom. A teacher's personal life and opinions must not be displayed in a manner, in which students may develop their own opinions and beliefs on. Students need to make up their own minds and choose their own paths. My personal life has nothing to do with their success, which is my main goal for them. Remaining a professional is my goal for me.
